LIFT TEST
Lift testing is used to screen employees and potential candidates for pre-existing injuries or limitations that will prevent their ability to perform the physical demands of the job. The testing focuses on the physical abilities, and in some instances, it is used in place of fit-for-duty and return to work physicals.
Lift test performed at Coastal Med Urgent Care is based on OSHA guide-lines and typically involves the employees lifting 50 pounds of weight. Based on the specific job function and requirements, the test can be Customized to be a representation of what will be expected from the potential employees. The process can help prevent employers from onboarding employees with a higher propensity to injuries and in the process provide for a safer workplace.
