Drugs Test Screening

Coastal Med Urgent Care offers 5 to 14 drug screening panels to suit your needs with a quick turn-around time. Typical sample sources include urine, saliva, hair and blood. From screening new employees to post- accident evaluation, reduce the likelihood of drug-related injuries and accidents with random drug testing.

Work Physical

Audiogram/ Hearing Test

At Coastal Med Urgent Care, we provide comprehensive audiogram and hearing tests to help employers ensure the health and safety of their workforce. Our hearing tests are essential for employees who work in environments where exposure to loud noise may pose a risk to their hearing.

Vision Screening – acuity , peripheral and color vision screening

Typical done to ensure your employee can see and perform their duties correctly, visual screening can help identify eye disease such as near-sightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. If any abnormalities are identified during testing, our providers can refer to a specialist for further evaluation and management.

Respirator Fit Test- clearance exams and quality fit test

Respiratory Fit Testing is conducted to ensure that the respirator is both comfortable and provides employees the expected protection. Our Qualitative Fit test uses testing substances that patients can detect by the sense of taste or smell. During test, patients perform movements that consist of head turns and coughing to assess proper respirator fit.

Breath Alcohol Test

A breath alcohol test measures how much alcohol is in the air you breathe out. The device uses that measurement to estimate how much alcohol is in your blood. That number is known as your BAC, or blood alcohol content. Blood alcohol level above the range of 0.05% lead to reduce muscle coordination, and impaired judgment.

Tuberculosis Screening (PPD skin test or chest x-ray)

Protect your employee from active Tuberculosis(TB). TB is a bacterial infection that mainly affects the lungs. It can also affect other parts of the body, including the brain, spine, and kidneys. TB is contagious and can spread from one employee to another through coughing and sneezing. Routine screening is essential to ensure employees are not carrying an active infection with the potential of negatively affecting the entire workforce.

Lift Test

Lift testing is used to screen employees and potential candidates for pre-existing injuries or limitations that will prevent their ability to perform the physical demands of the job. The testing focuses on the physical abilities, and in some instances, it is used in place of fit-for-duty and return to work physicals.

Lift test performed at Coastal Med Urgent Care is based on OSHA guide-lines and typically involves the employees lifting 50 pounds of weight. Based on the specific job function and requirements, the test can be Customized to be a representation of what will be expected from the potential employees. The process can help prevent employers from onboarding employees with a higher propensity to injuries and in the process provide for a safer workplace.

Work Injury- Workers Compensation

Avoid the long wait and cost associated with emergency room visits for minor injuries sustained by your employees. Our aim is to get to your employees in and out with as little interruption to their day as possible.

Your staff will receive:
a. Direct care by our Occupational Medicine specialists knowledgeable in Florida Workers' Compensation
b. Care coordination and communication with employers
C. Work restrictions and return-to-work plan
d. Referral coordination with other specialties if needed
e. No wait policy for employees (versus going to the emergency room)

Onsite Clinic:

Many chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart diseases can be detected/diagnosed and prevented through routine screening performed at the work location. Coastal Med Urgent Care on-site clinic benefits employees by reducing their out-of-pocket medical expenses, transportation cost and out-of-work time. In addition, our program incorporates health education and events that give employees insight and facilitate healthy changes like weight loss and smoke cessation. Our wellness program is customizable to the size of your workforce.
